My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is holistic, eclectic, and integrative; meaning that I incorporate a variety of techniques and modalities. I see therapy as a co-creative process between client(s) and therapist working together to determine the most effective path to resolution of the presenting issues.
My preference is to utilize experiential interventions because I have found those to create a greater opportunity for self awareness and rewiring the brain, which produces more rapid results. However, everyone is an individual with a unique perspective, so there is no one-size-fits-all. Some of the modalities and theories I draw upon are Mindfulness, Process Therapy, Positive Psychology, Transpersonal Psychology, & HeartMath Coherence Techniques.
Spiritual Concepts That Inform My Perspective
We are all connected by a Universal life force energy that flows through all of us. Although this Source energy is the same, we are individually designed to express our love, creativity, and gifts in a unique way. When this expression becomes blocked (through limiting beliefs, fears, trauma, stress, etc.) we begin to operate more from this lower state of being, experiencing difficult emotions and problems in our external life; feeling cut off from our true Self. The journey of healing entails accessing our true Self and allowing the life force energy to flow freely through us, enabling our beautiful and unique expression once again.
